Re: excel 2002 convert numbers to mathematical

You need to do the 2 replaces as well as the remove hyperlinks (you don't need to select the individual cells, you can do the whole column in one). Btw Havant isn't far away from me

Re: excel 2002 convert numbers to mathematical

Can't help you there as it does on mine if there are hyperlinks (and nothing if there isn't hyperlinks). You will have to look up how to do it in 2002 as I don't have a copy in front of me. You could...

Re: excel 2002 convert numbers to mathematical

Hyperlinks - select the column - right click and you will see the remove hyperlinks option.

For the replace see the link below, as well as the $ symbol you will also need to do the same with the -...
  5. Re: VBA Error window has changed - no more Debug button

I don't get the debug button if running the code from a sheet module with Break on Unhandled Errors (which is what I always have it set as), I do get the button in a regular module with Break on...

Re: excel 2002 convert numbers to mathematical

Remove the hyperlinks then do a Replace with the $ in the replace with box and the other box blank.

then format your cells as desired.

Re: excel 2002 convert numbers to mathematical

What do you mean "we retype the numbers"? you select the numbers in the spreadsheet, paste the one line of code Rick posted in the Immediate window and press Enter.

    There shouldn't be any retyping...

Are you saying that post 11 is the result you get when you carry out the instructions above by Rick?

    Re: Removing Duplicates with Timestamp

With the original data (after the timestamp is removed) if you change the format of the cells to a number format rather than a date format what do you get returned?

Re: Help me with entering times in Excel

Yes but the act of adding AM to the cell doesn't turn it to text, it is the lack of the space with the AM so this statement

    is incorrect.

Data validation though from the OP's post would do...

Re: Help me with entering times in Excel

If I enter 10 AM in a cell (with the space) it doesn't turn it into text, it remains in time format and =ISNUMBER(The cell reference) returns TRUE.
