Freaky thing happening.

In an input field, formatted as a number, when I input a number 39,319.598, excel changes my input to 39319.5979999999

I messed with some numbers and it seems to start with numbers larger than 32768.

Anyone seen this or know why this is happening? Seems like a bug to me.

Aloha,
Chad

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
How exactly is the data input?
Are you typing it by hand, or copy/pasting it from somewhere?

Does it happen in all sheets/books ? Or just one/few in particular?

Do you have any Macros Running?
Try opening the book with Macros Disabled (Hold down shift key when you open it)

You're not really doing what I'm asking (or at least your responses are vague so I can't tell if you did or not)...

Just because the book you open doesn't have macros in it, doesn't mean there aren't macros running.

Hold down the shift key while you're opening a book.

My Apologies, Holding Shift doesn't seem to be a reliable method to disable macros.

Go to Optoins - Trust Center - Trust Center Settings - Macro Settings
Disable all macros without notification (this is temporary for troubleshooting)
Might also disable trusted locations and trusted documents.
