Animating Free Flight of Morpheus Lander in Excel Without Power BI

You might have seen some of the amazing animated Excel Charts and Maps that you can get with Power View and Power Map in Excel 2013. For those of you with earlier versions of Excel, today the Learn Excel from MrExcel Podcast #1856 shows how to animate a scatter using just regular Excel.

The subject is the first four free flights of the prototype moon lander “Project Morpheus” from NASA. The Project Morpheus team is attempting to fly the lander 465 feet up and 636 feet down range today (February 10, 2014), significantly higher and farther than the last 4 free flights.
