I have a pivot table with an entire year's data. Each month represents a different period (1-12), and they make up the column fields of my pt. The row fields are made up of accounts, and then I summarize all the data.

I would like to know if there is a way to summarize each quarter of data and display this information within the pivot table, as apposed to just summarizing the entire year's worth of data? I would like to get quarter and half year summaries.

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
I assume that your Months are not Excel datevalues, but integers instead. Have you considered adding an additional column to your data that transforms months to quarters...

="Q"&MATCH(ref,{1,4,7,10})
="H"&IF(ref<7,1,2)
