Drill through - Behaviour in PowerPivot/Pivot Table

Dear All,

I regularly use Power Pivot and Pivot tables for various analysis and drill through the figures to see what combination of transactions makes those figures. In my raw data there are 44 columns.

Every time I drill through, I get an exploded view of that table showing raw data - all 44 columns.

Out of the 44 columns that are retrieved, at least many columns are technical and does not provide any value to my analysis. Instead, I want to create a custom table to support a more customized drill through view, with only the columns I am interested in.

I have attached the picture of what currently I get when drill through and what I am interested in seeing.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Who is Mr Spreadsheet?
Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
Drilldown in pivot tables will always give you every column. There is no setting to change that.

I managed to find one old post on internet, the Tutorial am struggling to understand fully.

If you could have a look, to see if possible via Power Pivot.

Any help would be appreciated.

So basically he is changing the pivot source.
You could do that with PQ: Import the source data, remove unwanted columns. load as pivot table to the worksheet.
