I am looking for a similar output as Excel Magic Trick 1355 but my data has blank rows between parents and children:

The formula in the final step of 1355 for the output table cells : =IF(OR(X$4>$U5,$U5=""),"",INDEX(Table3[[People]:[People]],MATCH(ROWS(X$5:X5),Table4[[Bold]:[Bold]],0)+X$4)) includes the blanks cells between the children's names in the output table.

Any ideas on an alternative function that will create the same effect as 1355 and remove the blank cells??

A function won't remove the blank rows, you would need VBA for that !!
