Determining if the workbook is saved

I open many files from a workbook template. When they are first opened they are not saved. I want a way to show in a cell if the workbook is or is not saved at any particular time then if it is, to show the path of the file (maybe using =INFO("directory") and a function to get the file name. If the file is not saved initially, this function shows as my default file location. Is this possible? Thanks.

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Via VBA, check the file name for ".xls". If a file is not saved it will not have an extension yet. For a current save, check the workbook.Saved property.
