My computer crashed at work and they gave me another piece of junk :)

In certain cells when I enter simple formulas like +256/20000 I get the correct calculation in the cell but the formula goes away. I'm sure it is some setting in option but can't figure it out

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.

If you check the formula bar, the formula should still be there

Hi Craig:

You said it happens in some cells -- so that means not in every cell. It sure is strange -- what version of EXCEL is installed on your new computer?

Couple of things to look at ...

1) is there a macro running in the background?

2) is your worksheet protected?

3) are the cells in question formatted as Hidden/Locked?

1. I can't find any macros

2. Worksheet is not protected

3. Cells in question are not hidden or locked

Version 2000 (9.0.2720) Computer is about 4 years old
Very strange infact on the same sheet in a different cell I don't have the problem
