Spurious e-mail hyperlinks appearing

Has anyone seen the following behaviour? After working on a new (blank) worksheet for a few minutes, or opening one from a trusted source, all the cells get an email hyperlink. Using 'Edit' 'Clear' 'Formats' will not get rid of them and I end up having to run a macro to strip them out.

The only actions I am doing are copy and paste and scrolling using a wheel mouse.

I have not found anything about a virus with this behaviour (I use Sophos a/v) and am fast approaching having to reinstall Windows in attempt to stop getting the error.

The emails are known to me, but are not in my Contacts from Outlook.

Having searched the registry for one of the email addresses I have found it in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software - Microsoft - Office - 11.0 - Common - Internet - UseRWHlinkNavigation

and the same path in HKEY_USERS.

Thanks in advance

Hi Ben and Welcome to the Board.

Not sure I have any answer for you, but to eliminate the possibility of any malware I would suggest a Google search and install and run ALL the following (all free):

SpyBot
Ad-aware
Spywareblaster
Ewido
CCleaner

I've found that one programme will catch stuff that the others miss, so between them all they should catch everything. If they all come up clean then at least you would know you were not infected with an external virus/malware.
