Hi,

I have a workbook with a lot of sheets. There are formulas that link to another workbook.

How do I find where those formulas are within all the sheets. I have gone to Edit, Links but that only tells me what files are linked.

Any ideas?

Cheers...

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
When I have that problem, I do Ctrl+F then click options, make sure its set to workbook, and to search in formulas, then I search for "[" without the quotes, when Excel references another workbook, it puts the title in brackets like [this] this usually finds then, then after you fix them. Go back to Edit --> Links and break the links, that will get ride of the outside link and stop Excel from asking you if you want to update links when you open the workbook... hope that helps.

Type "Find Links" in the help box.

You'll get a topic find links in a workbook...this idea works. I actually find that instead of searching for the brackets sometimes other characters work better...basically, you are using "Find" with "search in formulas" for characters that mark links, such as "[" or "xls" or "!"

Hope this helps

You can also use Ctrl + ~ to toggle between audit view and normal view of cell contents (if the sheet isn't to crazy and big).
