Many times after importing a lrge database to Excel and then deleting a good portion of this DB, still Excel "remembers" the whole original range. e.g. when clicking Home+End I got the last original cell even after deleting the whole erea.

questions:
(1) why is that?
(2) how can I really CLEAN the unwanted data to make the cells really empty?

Excel Facts

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.

EDIT:
Once you have enter data on a Worksheet Excel needs to remember or recall this info ie. the cells data and properties etc. This is so that it can Undo an operation. The default number of operations is set @ 16, so it needs to remeber or recall a bit a info. To reset the new range just save your workbook OR
Run this code;

Application.UsedRange
