Hi, on some programs I have seen, that when a date must be selected, you can do it through a button that opens uo a little calendar page on which you just click on the date selected.

Is there anything similar in Excel Office XP, or is this asking too much??

Thankyou all.

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
You could probably create one using some code and a userform or on a separate worksheet. But as far as something like that already existing in Excel, no.

try this:

1) right click on te tool bar, select control tool box tool bar
2) click on more controls
3) select calendar control
4) stick one on the worksheet - size as needed
5) right click on the calendar object, select properties
5) scroll down to the Linked Cell option - put in something like A1
6) exit design mode on the control toolbar

...when you select a date from the calendar, it'll show up in a1.

Is there a way to make it work for a range of cells? And make the control appear only when one of those cells is selected?

This may seem really silly and such a trivial question but my inserted controls dont let me do anything with them ? Any reason or settings this could be please help...

Mike, exit the design mode. (Look for a "Design mode" button on the control toolbar)

Last Question on these things...

the cell you pick for it to state the date you are currently on in the calendar ( A1 for instance ) does not seem to be an actual anything so to speak !

i was trying to do a vlookup and using the A1 as a lookup cell so if you had cell A1 saying the date was 14/08/2003 and wanted to vlookup if there was a name next to it ( for a holiday sheet for instance ) it will not lookup the cell in question as it dosnt accept what is in A1 as any sort of reference ...

I am really puzzeld why if anyone could explain this i would be very grateful...

thx

Re: date picker- where?, where?

Paddy, thanks for your suggestion. I'm eager to try it, but:
which toolbar are we talking about, the one on the sheet proper or the one on the userform?

what is the exact name of the additional "calendar control" you mention, cause I can't find it.

Thanks
