Need help with a project. Currently I have a Status Report that has to be updated daily with the same type information, inventory ,WIP , Shipments etc.

All of this data is available from Access tables from night runs off our ERP system, so the data and its format is consistent from day to day.

Normally I would simply use VLOOKUP to populate the report data from Pivot Tables of the Access data. The problem here is that though the part number data is pretty much statis the inventory locations can change from day to day making the column argument in a VLOOKUP worthless.

Is there a way to lookup the part number and then match to a specific column heading ,and then return the value in the intersecting cell ?

Sounds like you might want to try an =Index(Match(),Match()) type approach. You might set up a small test table and use the Lookup Wizard (Tools | Lookup...) and play around a bit. That can teach you some basics. If you get stuck or if that looks like it's not going to fill the bill for you, post back, preferably with some sample data (COLO's utility works quite nicely for that) and someone around here will help you along.
