Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Hello,

Have you tried format and fraction (there are a few options in here).

Hope this helps.

If you are talking about "format cell", "fraction" yes I've tried that. The problem is that I may have some odd decimals like .59 or .34 which don't convert well. I need something that will give me the nearest real ruler fraction. Something like 3/5 s is not a ruler fraction. I need it to convert to 3/4, 1/8, 3/16, 7/8..... fraction that show up on a tape measure.

Thanks

Do you need a numeric result that has the appropriate number format or will a text value suffice?

Assuming your tape measure accuracy is to a sixteenth of an inch I have based measurements on that, with the following to give a text result assumimh your decimal is in A1

=INT(A1) & " " & (FLOOR(A1,1/16)-INT(A1))*16 & "/16"

This ROUNDS DOWN to the nearest 1/16th to ROUNDUP change the FLOOR function to CEILING.

Maybe I need two different functions. One to get the fraction and the other to make the fraction into something you would find on a ruler/tape measure.

3/5 s for example does not show up on a ruler. 3/4 yes but 3/5 no.
So I guess I need soemthing to round to the nearest ruler fraction.
