IF Date is Greater than Another Date Then

Working in Excel 2007 I am trying to determine how to write a formula for a scenarios when a date is greater than (1/1/2013) another date in same row, but a different cell. So for example if date in Column C is occours(ed) before date in Column B then I want to enter a zero in Column D to perform a calculation (D*E) . If date in Column C is not before date in then I would like to enter a 1 in Column D to peform calcuation (D*E).

A/Hosting Cost B/Est. Bill Date C/Acutal Bill Date D E/No Months = Actual Savings
2,500 13-Feb-2013 2010-10 ? 10 = Actual Savings

The fixed before date is 1/1/2013. In this case the actual hosting savings for 2013 should be zero since the actual bill day occaured in 2010. I am using the follwoing formula, but obvioulsy without success: =IF(C1>"1/1/2013","0", "1")

I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

try:
=IF(C1< H1,0,1) 'where H1 = 1/1/2013.

Also, I may have read it wrong, but you wanted to know when C1 was less than 1/1/2013, so I used a less than sign.

See how you go.

So I tried =IF(C1<1/1/2013,0,1) oh and by the way you were corret I should have been a less than sign. My mistake. This will work for me. Now I think I can try to figure ut the second part of what I need it to do. At least I am beyond the first obstacle of getting the less than part correct. Thank you! I do appreicate your help on this.

my problem is similar and yet I can't get the right result.

Since 7/7/2014 has not yet arrived, and thus the statement is not true, I’d think that the result should be the value of cell H159.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Since 5/7/2014 is in the future, TODAY is not greater than 5/7/2014 so the result is ‘not true’ so it seems to me that the cell value of the value of cell H159 should be placed in the cell.

I also need the to use the same expression like this:

IF(TODAY()>(2/7/2014),0,H159)

The expression result is '0' as I hoped; however, since it does not work in the case I described, it is also wrong.[/FONT]

I now see my error. I need to have the date in a cell.

You can have the date in a cell or use DATEVALUE("02/07/2014") in your formula; otherwise it will not be read as a date within the formula

So, what would I add to this code:

=SUMPRODUCT(--([Facebook2015.xlsx]Suez!$C$5:$C$199=$D8),[Facebook2015.xlsx]Suez!$T$5:$T$199)

so that it only shows results if the date is greater than 1/7/2014 but remains blank if the date is before that.

Value of date 01-01-2013 in excel is 41275 (You can find with VALUE Function in excel)
=IF(Value(C1)>41275,0,1) or =IF((Value(C1)>VALUE(1-1-2013),0, 1) instead of =IF(C1>"1/1/2013","0", "1")
