    Default Tank Volume Calculation

    Is there any way to calculate the volume of the following tnaks


    Vertical Tank With Spherical Top and bottom.


    horizontal Tank with spherical Ends



    I think this is related to some sort of Enigineering mathematics .

    so Plz Engineers Mathematicians and Excel Experts Heklp Needed.

    For a vertical cylinder shape tank;

    (Inside diameter in inches X Inside diameter in inches) / 1029.4 = bbls per foot
    (a bbls in this case is = to 42 gallons)

    OR

    (radius in inches squared X 3.14 X 12)/231 = gallons per foot

    I have other formulas for horizontal tank but I can't get to it until I get to work in the morning

    I think its formula will be different

    The full volume would be the same for both, but if the tank is 1/3, 1/4, 1/5 full....the formula I gave you can be used for figuring partial volumes for a vertical spherical ended (a circle) tank. But yes partial volumes for a horizontal spherical ended tank is very different from vertical because its laying on its side instead of standing on its end

    I have a horizontal tank and is also partially filled


    I basically need teh formula for the Horrizontal and teh Vertical tanks with spherical ends and partially filled

    231 in the formulas refers to 231cu.inches in 1 US Gallon
    12 is used alot to convert feet to inches
