Hello,

is there a way to keep a circle round in a scatter plot? The radius and position of the circle's center is changing according to input data, but the circle is also deformed each time... Is it possible to keep the graph "proportional" (constant radius)?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
only 3 hours since you posted and USA - the main source of answers is 5am to 7 am at present so be patient. Have you googled, looked up the equation of a circle etc. Does the circle have to enclose all the scatter points or 95% of them etc

Oh, you're right, I've overseen that, sorry  .
I'll wait and be patient now.
Yes, I have googled but without success... I'm trying to represent the Mohr's circle in Excel 2010, the equation of circle is right and I have a complete points list (x and y) in 1 degree step (so 360 positions).
It's just that, when I change the reference bending and shearing stress values, the circle is updating but loose the round shape... which is not so nice...

show us a few rows of data and explain what you are changing - because if the centre of the circle is set to x=3 y=4 and you change y to 5 the circle should just move. Is it possibly scaling of one axis changing which will turn it into an ellipse
