Hi,

I have 2 different workbooks and get values through Vlookup.

but when I change the value in a certain cell it does not get updated in the second workbook.

I have to press F2 on the cell then browse the file, and then it updates.

Any ideas or suggestions.

and Yes the calculations are set to automatic not manual,

I searched many threads but none got the solution.

Thanks All.

Thanks All for trying to help me,

I have switched to the following formula:

=SUMPRODUCT(--('[MIS_Aug 14_Final.xlsx]Bill All Cabs'!$A$2:$A$61=A2),'[MIS_Aug 14_Final.xlsx]Bill All Cabs'!$B$2:$B$61)

and its updating perfectly and instantly,

but if any solution to above problem will help.

Thanks a lot

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
I dont think you have two workbook on the same instance of excel. This means that you have two workbooks which are two different instance. so if you minimize one, you can see the other. Recalculation occur across workbooks in the same instance of Excel. But your is different instance.

So close one of the workbook and goto other work book, press Ctrl + O and open the closed file. Hopefully it should work.
