Hello, I basically have 50 worksheets, each work sheet has 2 tables in it. An old one and a new one they all have the same titles etc, I need to compare the data. For instance L2-L43 is the old then L46-L87 is the new. Now what I want to do is if a change is present between the two of them highlight it red...

Example

A2 10
A3 5
A4 5

A46 10
A47 5
A48 5

Now I know they're the same, this is the point the majority are but I just want a formula inplace to make sure that if something is wrong with the new data I am alerted by the box been highlighted etc.

Please, please help. I am really struggling. Alex.

Why can't spreadsheets drive cars? They crash too often!
In your example
1) select cell A46
2) click on Conditional Formating
3) choose New Rule
4) select "Format only cells that contain"
5) change condition from "between" to "not equal to"
6) type in =$A2 NOTE: this is $A2 NOT $A$2
7) set your format
8) click OK
9) click on Conditional Formating
10) manage rules
11) change "Applies to " to $A$46:$A$48
12 click OK

Hope that helps

Are you sure this bit is correct? 11) change "Applies to " to $A$46:$A$48 - And if I was to now type in a different number in any of the L column would it show?

Set up a test sheet with the values in your example in the cells you have specified. Follow the steps, then change any value and see what happens.

Hi Tim thanks for all your help. The problem has been resolved.

Here is another problem, how would I go about highlighting duplicate names?
