List View Control, mscomctl.ocx, comctl32.dll, comctl32.ocx

I am trying to use the List View Control on my company computer. I do not have the reference files:

Microsoft Windows Common Controls 6.0 (SP6) or mscomctl.ocx

However I do have the file:

comctl32.dll

which is in this directory: C:\Windows\System32

I noticed that this different file comctl32.ocx is mentioned on Microsoft's Website:

What is the difference? Is there another Object Library I can reference in order to access this control? I would rather not deal with our IT department if I can help it...

In addition what are the differences between dll files and ocx? I would like to learn more on this subject matter if possible.

If the file you want to access before that you have to download Comctl32.dll file and then you get the information how to access the file.
