Hi,

I am not seeking a solution, but a problem.

I am working together with a few colleagues on expressing algorithms by Excel formulas. We would like to find a couple of interesting use cases to test our methods on. We imagine two potential situations, when people might want to have complex computations expressed by formulas rather than VBA.

First, there are mobile spreadsheets, whose users might still want to have certain computations available. Excel online, which does not have VBA, either, is probably a variant of the same situation.

Second, there are safety reasons. People and organizations might disallow any active content in their spreadsheets to avoid the risk caused by potentially malicious code.

So, if any of you has needs of this kind, please let us know. We are willing to check if we can replace your VBA computations by formulas. Of course, we cannot promise anything for sure, except that we will try hard and that we will not send you any invoice.

With bet regards,

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
No matter what happens with the topic suggested by shg, I wish more challenges.
