Hidden Formatting in Form

A database that I stumbled across on the LAN has me puzzled and I hope someone can help me out.

When the weekly schedule is opened, if the day is Saturday or Sunday, all of the records in the same column below are shaded gray. If the appointments start with “Leave” or “TDY” they are shaded a different color. My question is how did the (unknown) designer do this? There is no VBA code for anything other than applying filters for the form. Nor is there an embedded macro in the fields themselves.

I've tried to add a link to imgur to show the formatting but it is blocked from work.</SPAN>

Yep. Took me a few years before I stumbled across that myself!
Quite handy...
