I am wanting to add in a line of code to my current code at the beginning which propmt users for a password. If the correct password is entered then the code will say "Correct password entered!" and then when "OK" is clicked the code will continue on. If an incorrect password is entered then it should just say incorrect password and when ok is clicked it should exit sub. anyone know about how to do this. for this example the password could be "password".

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
try something like this...

Code:
Private Sub Button1_Click()
   Dim Response, pw
pw = InputBoxDK("Enter Password.", "Password Required")
   If pw <> "password" Then
MsgBox "You didn't enter a correct password."
       Exit Sub
   Else
Response = MsgBox("Correct Password Entered", vbOKOnly + vbInformation, "Correct Password Entered")
   End If
End Sub

This is the code needed to have the password show asterisks...

Code:
Option Explicit
'////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
'Password masked inputbox
'Allows you to hide characters entered in a VBA Inputbox.
'

On a regular msgbox I don't believe so...
The default buttons are:
OK
OK, Cancel
Abort, Retry, Ignore
Yes, No, Cancel
Yes, No
Retry, Cancel

Only way you'd be able to do it would be to create a custom userform to pop up instead of a msgbox
