Hello to all.

I could do with some help. I have a crude, I call it "application tracker" which I need to try and improve on.

I would like to include being able to search by date as well as text.

I need to also be able to lock cells after data has been entered to stop any backdating of dates.

The database sheet is where daily applications are logged, and so the search sheet has been put in so info may be found as a lot of info will be stored.

The main purpose is so that one can track the application from start to finish.

In addition I would like to be able to be able to express the info in charts or graphs to be able to identify such info as "how many applications went to finance" and which department is taking longest to give a reply.

Honestly, I am pulling my hair out with this as I am completely new to all of this. I managed to find this spreadsheet and have been able to amend it as much as I can.

If my boss had Access, I would be laughing!!!

If anyone knows of a similar existing spreadsheet that I can amend myself, I will bin this one and start again.

If none of this can be done. Someone let me know and I can draw a line under it.

Thanks in advance. I just want a shiny spreadsheet!

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
