Hello everyone!!!

I need help on how to sum two cells whatever the sign is and if a third cell is for example positive to result in a positive number.
for example

if the first cell is 100
second cell is -50
third cell is -25
the fourth cell should be -50 (+) -25=-75 but because the first cell is a positive number i want to show me +75(instead of-75)

thanks a lot
im really waiting for someone to help me

Mike

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
with -50 in A2 and -25 in A3

try
=SIGN(A3)*(A2+A3)

ignore this, gives wrong result.

RoryA's should work

Welcome to the forum.

Perhaps:

=ABS(B1+C1)*SIGN(A1)

Can you give a more specific example of what you want if the solutions so far don't do it?

=if(a1>0,ABS(b2*A1),b2*a1)
