I have been using Range("MyRangeName").value for some time and now I saw a solution offered which instead just uses [MyRangeName] and leaves off Range and Value. How long has this been available? I could have saved considerable time. Thanks to HalfAce on Mechanic's problem. However, I couldn't get Me.Name to work. Does this work for others?

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
This has been avail? for a while now. The syntax is a shortcut
way of referencing for objects. So using [] instead of parenthesis
means you don't need to type the quotes and you don't
need to state what kind of object you're referring to.
eg Range("A1") >>>> [A1]. You can leave off Value as it will use the defgault property.

Using square brackets eg "[A1:C5]") is3
identical to calling the Evaluate method with using a string
argument.
It may save time and simplify code and in some cases simple means faster, but it may also mean more obscure.
