hi

I want to get my macro to check for the existence of a file - File 1 - in a folder - folder 1.
If the file is found then the macro should attempt to open it, otherwise it will bypass that and move on to the next step.

any ideas?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
The Dir function returns an empty string if the file is not found.

So you could use it like this

If Dir(C:\Folder1\File1.xls) <>"" Then
' carry out code to open file
End If
