Combobox - selecting first row

I have a form with a combobox on my excel spreadsheet, and i was wondering how to when it starts, to have the first item in the combobox selected.

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
yeah... i tried that ... didnt seem to work....

i know in VB, ... there was a command called 'selected' ... i forgot how to use it... but there doesnt seem to be anything like that in VBA
