Hi,

I need to work out a compund annual growth rate over a number of years.

Eg Year 1 is $100, Yr 2 is $200, Yr3 is $800 - what is the CAGR for the 3 years.

I urgently need an answer to this if possible.

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
Use the RATE function:

=RATE(2,,-100,800) = 182.8%

or

=(800/100)^(1/2)-1 = 182.8%

The years are one less than in the series.
