Hi! I have a table in which I have three non numeric columns and I want to count them(G1,simplyfied). I only get it managed to count one of the columns in a pivot table, but I want to have the result you can see in G3 in a pivot table.
Has anyone an idea how to do it, at first without vba?
G1

Rating1Rating2Rating3
aab
abb
aab
cca

<tbody>
</tbody>

G3
CategoryCount
a6
b4
c2

<tbody>
</tbody>

Many thanks, Jens

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Welcome to the MrExcel board!

To get a PivotTable with Categories as you have shown, they would need to be in a single column, not scattered across 3 columns.

Is there only 3 columns of 'Ratings' in the original data?

About how many rows of data is there?
