Dashboard advice powerpivot

I need to redesign my dashboard.
i want to use powerpivot but am struggling with what is best option
i have 40 products with 10 child materials each,(actual Qty of products and child material is in the thousands but to keep it simple!!)
the child materials are not unique and are shared with different products
eg product A has child material 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.
product B has child material 1,2,5,6,7,9,11,34,22,45

should i create a long table with all products on column 1 and all 10 child materials in column 2 (400 lines)
or create a table for each product?

the dynamic data table i import has the qty of each child material, storage location, and material age
in column 1 for the dynamic data is a unique list of child material numbers, column 2 has storage location(number), and colum 3 has the age of material(number)

in the end I need to have a pivot table where i can select a Product and see the status of the 10 child materials

any help is appreciated
