We have a shared workbook with data validation. Everyone uses Offie 365. Last week after someone messed with sheet protection, someone reported that auto complete stopped working in the data validation, it was rebuilt but no effect for the user. Now it has stopped for me, on all workbooks I create. Any idea where to begin?

It has, I think, been in and out of the Insider Beta, so will probably be a little while yet before it's available to desktop 365.
Thanks Rory,

Ill have to wait. Just a simple thing that would be perfect for something I'm building.

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
@PeterBain as you already have a thread running on this, please stick to that rather than hijacking another members thread. Thanks

Thank you all for the comments, I can't help but feel I broke something.

Quick update, I have semi kinda fixed it? Clicking inside the data validation cell does not work. Clicking the drop-down arrow for the cell then typing does :/

Depends which version of Excel. ;)

It's currently available in Excel Online.
I use 365 desktop and this is the first time I've seen a useful feature in the browser version that is not available in the desktop version.

I do not get the Insider Beta versions so was unaware of that but would generally not recommend that as a solution to a general audience.

I'm not on the insider/beta channel either & very rarely use xl online because of it's limitations, but was surprised to see that it was available.
