Is there a way to split a numerical value of a single cell into each integer of it's value and list them separately in individual cells?
For example: 391 is the value in cell A:1 and I want cells B:1, C:1, and D:1 to read 3,9,1 respectively, so I can derive at 13 in cell E:1: which is the sum of the individual parts of the original value found in cell A:1.

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
u can use MID formula

=MID(A1,n,1). where n is which digit exactly u wanna extract.
=MID(A1,1,1)
=MID(A1,2,1),
etc

Yes, you could do this with a formula assuming the cell only contains 3 numbers, you may need a UDF if there can be many characters

Here is an array formula to sum the digits in cell B10

=SUM(VALUE(MID(B10,ROW($A$1:OFFSET($A$1,LEN(B10)-1,0)),1)))

This is an array formula. When you enter in the formula, use Ctrl+Shift+Enter

I actually used the formula from alphafrog to get this done! I don't really need to seperate the values as long as I can calculate to sum of the individual numbers in the cell. Thanks guys!
