Hello everyone,

I've been searching for(unsuccessfully) a way to create a form in Excel where people can go in and select multiple items from drop down menus then enter the information for the items. Once the form is completed they can select an "enter" button and the form distributes the information to the perspective spreadsheets based on the items selected in the dropdown menus. After, the form is reset for another entry.

Additionally, I need to be able to go to the perspective spreadsheets of whichever item and click on an entry and the form appear(showing me would entered the data and so forth).

Basically, I have 100s of rescue gear pieces that need to be tract from every usage so I'm trying to create a form that people can input the information in one place. After, I need to be able to tract down any item and view the spreadsheet.

I appreciate any and all help, I've done multiple Excel projects but none of this type.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
If you are just needing this to help populate a data table (preferably a formal Table) you could evoke the Form control. Where is that? It got hidden a few versions back.
Use the Customize Quick Access Toolbar or Ribbon. Choose Commands from: All Commands and look for "Form..."
See here for more detailed instructions https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/291073
Once that is added to your QAT or Ribbon, select the Table you want to work with and click the "Form..." option you just added.
Using the "Form..." you can search for items, edit items, add or delete items. You could add a form control button to the sheet instead to call on that Feature.

For more advanced and specific Forms see http://www.contextures.com/xlUserForm01.html
Since you have other users, the "Form..." button would have to be added to each users QAT or Ribbon and that form is easy to close. For some hard to get back.
