Excel formula to verify info in one sheet to pooulate a cell in another

Hi

I require the ability to do the following

If Cell O31 on Sheet 1 contains "Yes" then the value of cell V40 on Sheet 1 is copied into cell E9 on Sheet 2

can I get so help with this

it works..... I had the same formula but it wasn't working so I deleted it and then re-entered it and it worked ... not sure why ??????
