Excel treating docs like read-only when they are not

1. I'm on a PC
2. I'm using Excel 2010
3. I'm on a networked computer where my docs are saved to a shared drive
4. I create a doc and save it to a shared drive. I leave the doc open and put my comp to sleep at the end of the day. The next day, when making changes to the doc, I can't save. I am prompted that the doc is read-only and I will need to save as. This is not a protected or marked-as-final doc. It is not open by anyone else. I cannot figure out why a doc I created converts to read-only, even when the top center of the window doesn't say read-only, and when I'm able to save repeatedly all day. It seems like it happens when the doc is left open overnight, but while my comp is asleep. Help me hive-mind.

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
I'm not sure why that happens...but I have a similar issue with my work computer and network files.
Here's what I did:
• Right-click on the ribbon and select Customize Quick Access Toolbar
• Select Commands not in the Ribbon
• Select: Toggle Read Only and add it
• Click: OK

Now, whenever any file opens as Read Only, click that button on the QAT to toggle that setting off or on.

Does that help?

Ron,

Thanks. I've added this and will try it out in the next day and see if I get a different result.
