Hi all,

I don't know if anyone can quickly help with this, but is there a way of extracting just the text between two brackets ()?

I have a messy spreadsheet that is largely free text and I only need the ID's that are always between two brackets. There are several sheets to search through, so the soloution will have to search the whole workbook.

Many thanks for any help.

That is absolutely mind boggling - still can fully appreciate how it works so I'm going to try and step through it. Thanks Rick fantastic work. I did something in the past but as a formula solution. Going dig it out and see what I did. Food for thought, just shows me how much I don't know and how clever some people are. The truth is we are all stuck with Microsoft in the workplace and have to find some way through or all end up with RSI :)

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
