I have a WEIRD problem here that I have never encountered in many years of using Excel.
When I try to copy and paste a formula, the newly pasted formula does not generate the correct result. It generates the result of the original formula instead.
Example: I have two columns with numeric data as listed below. The formula in cell B5 is "=SUM(B2:B4)". If I copy the cell B5 and paste it into C5, it copies the formula correctly but the result displayed is the sum of Columns B2:B4 rather than the sum of Columns C2:C4. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, the formula does not use Absolute Referencing.
If I manually enter the forumla "=SUM(C2:C4)" into column C5, then the result displays correctly.
Help??
