Formula for copying comments

Is there a way to copy/get the "comments" of a cell using an excel formula?
i.e. if A1 contains a comment, copy that comment to B1?

I am not looking for the VBA way to pull the comments.

Hi DonkyOte, thanks for the welcome.

I am merely trying to increase visibility by posting on 2 forums. Especially so because my question was misunderstood and then closed without a single reply from myself (Previous post on the other forum). In addition, some forums don't like links to other forums.

Can you not just copy cell A1 and

Paste Special > Comments ?

Ahhh just realised you probably want the actual wording to appear in cell B1 - in which case the above obviously won't work !
