Hi,

I have a conditional format using color fill to find certain cells. Is there a way to use a formula that detects color fill or even text color?

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
The 16 is part of the left function.
Code:
LEFT(text,number of characters to return)

Since the text you are looking for is 16 characters the formula is only looking at the first 16 characters of the cell to see if it match's the string you are looking for.

No worries. I only asked as I can now use this to find other text. Anyway, I'll have a play about with it and arrays.

Thanks again.
