I'm looking for a way to group BOM components for an electronics BOM. Currently my program outputs a CSV table like this for example:

ComponentPart Number
C111111111
C211111111
R122222222
R222222222
R333333333
U144444444
U244444444

I would like the result to group components together by unique part numbers, like the following:

ComponentPart NumberQuantity
C1, C2111111112
R1, R2222222222
R3333333331
U1, U2444444442

What would be the easiest way to do this?

Hi, welcome to the board :)

You could kinda do this with a quick Pivot Table...
A
B
C
D
E
1
ComponentPart NumberRow LabelsCount of Component
2
C11111111111111111

U144444444R2

44444444
2

Highlight the data
Insert Tab/Pivot Table
Put Part Number and then Components (in that order) in the Row labels window
Put Components in Values
