Hi There

I made a copy of my database and ran the security wizard on the copy to create user groups and permissions. (to see how it worked) but when I re started none of the users or passwords are working and I am locked out. No problem I thought I will just delete the copy and try again, but bizarrely the permissions are also on the original !! and I am locked out of that too. I have a security wizard report which details all of the user names and passwords but none are working :(

It has even locked down totally unrelated databases!!!

Please help me get back in and turn all this security off!

Thank You

Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
Ok not sure why but it lets me in when I leave the password blank, but I really want to remove the password request, can anyone help with this?

Did you set up security using a new workgroup, or just use the existing one?
You can tell by going to Tools > Security > Workgroup Administrator. If the current workgroup is something like
C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Access\System.mdw
then you have modified the original. You have a problem, because that's the workgroup that all databases use by default and they will now be prompted every time you try to launch them. You may need to repair your installation to get back to scratch.
If you created the security using a new workgroup, you can rejoin the original workgroup so you don't get those prompts. With databases closed, Tools > Security > Workgroup Administrator > Join. Enter the full path to the original workgroup, click OK or Join, and you should be OK.
