How to show decimal time in HH:MM:SS

How would I show a cell that's currently in decimal minutes in HH:MM:SS format:

For example: displaying 15.50 as 5:30.

I tried:

=FORMAT(A1, "HH:MM:SS")

but am getting a #NAME? return

I've played with cell formatting but haven't cracked it yet.

Not sure how 15.50 is 5:30 though

That is showing 25.2 (minutes) as 01:12:00.

Sorry I misunderstood. Divide by 1440 instead

Ah, a simple math error. I should have caught that, thanks.

Is there a way to omit the "00" in 00:25:12?

I think the primary takaway here is that the fundamental time unit in Excel is the day.
