I am fresh and new to Excel. What I am trying to get the total hours worked (down to a quarter hour) to appear in the smaller box in the corner of each day, but I can not seem to get it to add correctly no mater what I do. Can anyone help me out with a function that will help me out?

Thank you for the welcome. What I want to do is make it show the total hours worked (down to the quarter hour) in the small red box. I need help figuring out what function to use for it. Every time I try one it either shows the wrong number or "###".

### is not an error. It means that the data to be displayed is too much for the cell width. if you increase the cell width, you would see the value displayed. Or you can reduce the font for that particular cell so the value can be displayed.

I expanded the F12 box and it came out with "0.3333". That is far from the "8.00" that it is suppose to be. So my function is probably wrong.

What would the correct function to use one to put in F12 for total hours worked, if E12 is the start time and E13 is the end time?

Custom format your cell as [h]:mm

0.3333 formatted as [hh]:mm:ss gives me 08:00:00.

Do you want to describe how you changed the format?
