Hi, I have a column average. But if one or more of the cells are null, I would like the last value in that respective row to represent the null cell value for the column average calculation?

I am not wanting to carry forward the previous value to populate the cell, just use the last value for the average calculation.

I do have the last value captured in another column if that can be utilized.

Thanks

Hi,

So basically you want the average of a column where if a cell is blank, another column's respective value is taken instead?

If so, you could use this tweaked averageif formula

=AVERAGE(IF(original_column<>"",original_column,replacementcolumn))

This is an array formula, add with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER

Alternatively, if you already have a helper column with last value captured, why not populate that column with all the desired values to avoid nulls and do a simple average on that?
