Linking Pivot Tables

I have three separate pivot tables from the same data source (existing connection) all on different worksheets. Is there a way to link the Report Filters so that whatever changes I make to the filters on the first pivot table automatically update the 2nd and 3rd pivots? So for example is it possible to change the time period on the first pivot to show 2014 data and then the next two would show 2014 data as well?

I've been looking all over google and have not found a workable solution

What version of Excel are you using, and is the data in the same workbook? I know that this can be done with a slicer (if set up correctly) - when one is filtered then the other pivots off the same source are also filtered...at least when using data in the same workbook...I cannot verify if it can be done using external data, however. I had this happen in a workbook recently when I did not want this behavior, so I know it can be done.
