I have a table that has 1000 people who have a duration of time associated with them. I need to get the names and times of the top 10 people. I would prefer to use formulas so that I can just make a template that I can paste my data into.

anyone one have any ideas?

Thank you very much. I adapted these to my workbook. However, I did not use the ones for E2 and H2; can you explain what these were meant to do? I mean, I know they are directing the cell to look into cell G1 for a value to determine the quantity of rankings but I don't understand why. I just used a hard keyed number and the other formulas worked with only one adjustment (Rows($A$2)-1 rather than +1). Just trying to gain a better understanding of the usage so if a situation occurs where I could apply the knowledge, I have it.

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.

Actually, you should not change anything to the set up. E2 and H2 determines whether there are ties of the last largest/smallest value. The set up needs that knowledge in order to produce the correct lists at any time.
