Make chart background transparent.

I need to make the background of my XY chart transparent so I can see related cell data in the worksheet behind it.
I can change colors, but transparency does not seem to work.

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Select no fill from the format menu:

Solution
That finally worked. Thanks.
My error was selecting "plot area" instead of "chart area".
