Moving to a place in a excel/powerpoint textbox?

Hi,

Sorry its excel/powerpoint related, but how can you move around in a textbox? For example, in a word document, you can use selection.movedown. How would you go about setting the cursor position to 5 characters from the start of the text and then inserting more text into that location within the textbox?
