Number format... Help !!!!

Hi,

I have a report and in that the format of the number are coming in 2 different ways. Is there a way to correct this.

1. 340.35 = this is normal format, i don't have any issue with this.
2. 28.390,26 = If you could see there is "." instead of "," and "," instead of "." and also have to remove the space from the front and back.

Any kind of help will reduce my time in doing manually.

Try:

=IF(ISNUMBER(A1),A1,NUMBERVALUE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,".",""),",","")," ","")))

Not sure if your number strings had a half space after them, did when copied across to my PC.

The file that you posted has a non-breaking space... ASCII 160... at the end. If that character is not really in your data, then you can use this formula...

=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("*.*,*",A1)),0+SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,".",""),",","."),IF(A1="","",A1))

If it is in your data, then you can use this formula instead...

=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("*.*,*",A1)),0+SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,CHAR(160),""),".",""),",","."),IF(A1="","",A1))
